Keeping childhood fun

About Capsule Books

Capsule Books is the children's imprint of Sagebrook Publishing House, focused on one thing: Fun!

Capsule is a small newcomer to the children’s publishing world; right now, we put the ‘roots’ in ‘grassroots’. Everyone who goes into making the books we sell takes personal pride in each one, seeing every story as a huge achievement; a compilation of painstaking artistry and late-night rewrites.

A lot goes into making a picture book.

Creating a story and polishing it to be both concise and entertaining; imagining the illustrations, finding the right artists and working with them to create pages of story that inspire the imagination and fun times…and then the formatting and printing so the pictures can be seen in all their glory! It’s a lot, and we LOVE it. We also love to bring our readers into the loop of how and why the books are made because both are so special to us.

The company was created in 2022 by author Drew Winks and features illustrations from talented artists, both seasoned illustrators and those who have never done it before in their life. Children’s literature has a wide range, and it’s an adventure to piece it all together to make entertaining stories that kids will love and remember.

Meet the author/owner

“Hello!

My name is Drew, and I created Capsule Books to publish the many, many children’s books that have been rattling around in my mind for years now.

I love working on serious books and stories, and consider writing itself to be the purest form of communication. But picture books are something else. They’re simple and they’re fun.

Just fun!

You can explore, create, learn, and do plain old ridiculous things in the pages of a child’s storybook. Investing myself in these works is something that I appreciate on an entirely different level.

So, for years to come Capsule Books will be releasing anywhere between four and six new picture books each year. Stay tuned to see the art and read the adventures of the stories we love enough to bring to life!”
